Former water polo coach Shawne took the plunge and joined Angels in April 2026.

After graduating in Education in South Africa, she taught English as a foreign language, and spent a couple of years in Australia. She found work in a boarding house and undertook a social media marketing diploma.

On returning to South Africa, she put those new-found social media skills to good use for a lifesaving association.

Shawne is well and truly bitten by the travel bug. Her dream location is Greece – ‘I absolutely love Mediterranean beach style destinations’ – but she stresses that Greece is just one of the many places on her wish list.

As well as journeying to foreign shores, Shawne loves staying active, being outdoors in the sun, good food and music. There is however one blot on her blue-sky landscape. Shawne – as easy-going as you can get, most of the time – does not like snakes. Underssstandable.
